The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Colonel (Air Corps) Wilfred Henry Hardy (ASN: 0-15245), United States Army Air Forces, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished services to the Government of the United States, in a duty of great responsibility as Assistant Chief of Staff for Supply of the FIFTH Air Force in the Pacific Theater of Operations in 1943, and subsequently in that same position with the Far East Air Forces from December 1943 to September 1945. The singularly distinctive accomplishments of Colonel Hardy and his dedicated contributions reflect the highest credit upon himself and the United States Army Air Forces.
