David Mize graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Class of 1969. He retired as a U.S. Marine Corps Major General. His father, Charles D. Mize, also graduated from the Naval Academy and retired as a Marine Corps Major General, making the two of them the SIXTH father/son Marines to each achieve Flag Rank.
