The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Major Edward M. Dunker, United States Air Force, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a T-28 Aircraft Commander on 4 May 1972. On that date, Major Dunker was number two in a flight of four T-28 aircraft attacking a hostile supply storage area. Major Dunker made three accurate ordnance deliveries which resulted in the destruction of the supplies and dispersion of hostile troops in the area. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Major Dunker reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
