Richard Clark graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, Colorado, Class of 1986. In 2009 he was appointed a U.S. Air Force Brigadier General, and in 2013 received his second star as a Major General. Promoted to Lieutenant General, in 2020 he was appointed the 21st Superintendent of the U.S. Air Force Academy, becoming the first Black General Officer to command that institution.
