Gary North was commissioned through the Reserve Officer Training Corps program in 1976 upon graduation from North Carolina University. He flew combat missions in the Gulf War (1991) and is recipient of two Distinguished Flying Crosses with combat “V”. He retired in 2012 as a U.S. Air Force 4-Star General.
