Louis Norley began his service with the Royal Air Force, transferring to the U.S. Army Air Force in 1943. During World War II, he became a U.S. Army Air Forces ACE, credited with shooting down 10.33 enemy aircraft in aerial combat. After the war he transferred to the new U.S. Air Force, and retired in 1963 as a Lieutenant Colonel.
