    The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star (Army Award) to Second Lieutenant Robert Gordon Hunt, Jr. (MCSN: 0-50150), United States Marine Corps, for conspicuous gallantry in action while serving with Company E, Second Battalion, First Marines, FIRST during the period 29 November 1950 to 4 December 1950. His actions contributed materially to the successful breakthrough of United Nations forces in the Chosin Reservoir area and are in keeping with the highest traditions of the Military Service.
