By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Captain (Infantry) Harry Adamson, United States Army, is cited for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Captain (Infantry) Adamson distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Company G, 11th Infantry Regiment, 5th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in action 14 October 1918. Although painfully wounded, Captain Adamson successfully led his company in the capture of a hill in the Argonne Forest under exceptionally heavy enemy fire, and remained with them until the position on the hill was secure.
