Barry (ASN: 175363), United States Army, is cited for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Private First Class Barry distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Company D, 21st Engineer Regiment, in action near Cornieville, Toul Sector, France, 5 September 1918, while exposing himself to the danger of exploding ammunition to rescue the helper of a French ammunition truck.
