When six enemy tanks attacked the battalion perimeter near Binalonan on the night of 16 January 1945, despite point blank tank fire he withheld his fire until the tank was within forty yards, then set it afire, thereafter remaining at his gun all night. Corporal Ouellette’s extraordinary heroism, personal bravery and zealous devotion to duty exemplify the highest traditions of the military forces of the United States and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
