(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Chef de Battalion Edouard J. Meric, Army of France, for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy while serving as Commanding Officer, 1st Tabor Morocain, French Army, in action against enemy forces in France, on 21 and 22 August 1944. Chef de Battalion Meric’s outstanding accomplishments, personal bravery and zealous devotion to duty exemplify the highest traditions of the Armed Forces of the Allied Nations.
