    (Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Colonel Ruperto K. Kangleon, Philippine Army, for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy, in action against enemy forces from 21 October 1943 to 20 October 1944, in the Philippine Islands. As leader of Guerilla Forces in the Philippine Islands, information Colonel Kangleon and his guerillas supplied were of incalculable value in the planning and execution of operations to liberate the Philippine Islands. Colonel Kangleon’s extraordinary heroism, personal bravery and zealous devotion to duty exemplify the highest traditions of the military forces of the United States and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
