    (Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to First Lieutenant (Coast Artillery Corps) Charles Shehi Dronberger (ASN: 0-375886), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy while serving with Battery L, 3d Battalion, 60th Coast Artillery Regiment (Anti-Aircraft), U.S. Army Coast Artillery Corps (Philippine Islands) in action against enemy forces on 2 January 1942, in the Philippine Islands. First Lieutenant Dronberger extinguished a fire in an ammunition dump, permitting the rescue of men who had been entombed in a bomb shelter by a direct hit. His extraordinary heroism, personal bravery and zealous devotion to duty exemplify the highest traditions of the military forces of the United States and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
