    The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Ensign Paul Hector Norman Beaudry (NSN: 0-350899), United States Naval Reserve, for heroism and extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight against enemy forces on 14 December 1944, in the vicinity of the Philippine Islands. While serving as wingman in an eight plane formation an enemy formation of twenty-seven planes was encountered. During the ensuing engagement and while he was under attack by enemy planes, he shot down two enemy planes which were attacking his division leader. His courage and skill were at all times in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.
