Dussaq (ASN: 0-1299800), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy while serving as a member of the Special Operations Branch, Office of Strategic Services Detachment, European Theater of Operations, in action against enemy forces from 22 May 1944 to 22 September 1944. Lieutenant Dussaq, having been parachuted into France in civilian clothes, organized and trained resistance forces in sabotage and guerilla warfare activities against enemy installations and troops. The courage and skill with which he planned and executed his operations against the enemy and the success of his mission contributed to the demoralization of enemy troops and to the subsequent liberation of the country. His personal courage was a strong incentive to all who worked with him. The courageous actions of Lieutenant Dussaq exemplify the highest traditions of the military forces of the United States and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
