The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Sergeant Andre J. Bouchardon (ASN: 10601419), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy while serving with the Office of Strategic Services, in action against enemy forces from August 1943 through March 1944, in enemy occupied territory. During this period, Sergeant Bouchardon, acting as radio operator to an American officer, was responsible for the transmission of operational information by radio to England.
