The President of the United States of America takes pride in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross (Posthumously) to Second Lieutenant Roger DeWitt Allcroft (MCSN: 0-32184), United States Marine Corps, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight while serving as a Wingman in Marine Fighting Squadron ONE HUNDRED THIRTEEN (VMF-113) based at Ie Shima, Okinawa Gunto, on 22 June 1945. Second Lieutenant Allcroft was a member of a four plane division which was attacked by approximately fifty enemy planes.
