Michael Collins graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Class of 1952. He resigned as a U.S. Air Force Colonel and subsequently was retired in the Air Force Reserve as a U.S. Air Force Major General. During his career he served as an Astronaut with both Project GEMINI and APOLLO and commanded the Module for the 1st manned landing on the moon.
