The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, 20 July 1942, takes pleasure in presenting a Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a Second Award of the Legion of Merit to Colonel (Corps of Engineers) Anson D. Marston, United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States from August 1954 to July 1960. [This award supersedes the previous award of the Army Commendation Medal to Colonel Marston for meritorious service during the period 25 January 1956 to 5 June 1958, as announced in General Orders No. 13, Office of the Chief of Engineers, 4 June 1958.]
