(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to First Lieutenant (Corps of Engineers) Clarence W. Weber (ASN: 0-1648226), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with the 105th Engineer Combat Battalion, 30th Infantry Division, in action against the enemy on 11 February 1945, in Luxembourg. After previous efforts to construct a bridge across the Sauer River had failed due to heavy enemy fire, First Lieutenant Weber let his men in the successful completion of this important bridge and succeeded in the efficient completion, despite all typos of enemy fire. Resulting in completion of the bridge, thereby enabling supplies and equipment to be transported to infantry troops already across the bridge. The gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty demonstrated by First Lieutenant Weber, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
