The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to First Lieutenant (Infantry) Otho Key Morrison, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with 60th Infantry Regiment, 5th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, near Cunel, France, 15 October 1918; and at Juvigny, France, 10 November 1918. Lieutenant Morrison displayed exceptional courage and leadership when, being cut off by the enemy with his battalion command and a small detachment from battalion headquarters, he led patrols and drove off enemy machine-gunners who had infiltrated to within striking distance of the group.
