The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to First Lieutenant (Infantry) Reynolds C. Moorhead, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with 324th Infantry Regiment, 81st Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in the Bois-de-Manheuelles, France, 9 November 1918. Lieutenant Moorhead exposed himself to terrific fire from three directions while assisting Private Thomas M. Moss carry a wounded officer to a place of shelter.
