The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pride in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross (Posthumously) to Private Dick Dulaney (ASN: 2218073), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Medical Detachment, 357th Infantry Regiment (Attached), 90th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, near Bantheville, France, 10 November 1918. Having been assigned to a company as first-aid man, Private Dulaney rendered most valiant service, working constantly under terrific fire. Never considering his own safety, he was always ready to administer to the wounded, his continued exposure resulting in wounds so severe that his death followed a few hours after receiving them.
