The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Major General William A. Beiderlinden (ASN: 0-10303), United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished services to the Government of the United States, in a duty of great responsibility in Korea, from June 1950 to May 1951. (This award supersedes the award of the Silver Star to Major General Beiderlinden, for gallantry in action during September and October 1950, published in General Orders 71, General Headquarters, Far East Command, 26 November 1950.)
