    The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pride in presenting the Silver Star (Posthumously) to Private Carl J. Dorosky (ASN: 13055715), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with Company L, 3d Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, in action against the enemy in North Africa, during World War II. During a night raid on enemy positions, communications with an adjoining unit were severed. Private Dorosky crossed terrain subjected to heavy fire and regained contact with this unit. P:rivate Dorosky’s action, at the dost of his life, exemplified the highest traditions of the military service and reflected great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
