(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Ensign Robert Arnold Sweatt, United States Naval Reserve, was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for heroism involving voluntary risk of life not involving conflict with an armed enemy, in going to the aid in efforts to save the U.S.S. LEXINGTON after is was damaged and left burning and sinking on 8 May 1942, in the Battle of the Coral Sea.
