(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Hospital Corpsman Third Class Peter W. Debeers (NSN: 6617499), United States Navy, for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action against a hostile force in the Republic of Vietnam. Hospital Corpsman Third Class Debeers distinguished himself by intrepid actions on 1 March 1967 while serving as a Corpsman attached to Company B, First Battalion, Fourth Marines, THIRD Marine Division. His unquestionable valor in close combat is in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflects great credit upon himself and the United States Naval Service.
