    The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Private First Class Jacque M. Nixson (ASN: 2070597), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with Company E, 1st Ranger Battalion, on the early morning of 12 February 1943, in the vicinity 5 miles west of Sened Station, Tunisia. Private First Class Nixson, acting as scout for his squad, charged with fixed bayonet under fire of an enemy machine gun nest and stopped the enemy fire at a point which was directly responsible for the successful advance of the other members of his platoon without loss. Private First Class Nixson’s courage and devotion to duty was an inspiration to all members of his organization and reflects credit upon the command.
