    The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Private First Class Pasquale P. Scorzelli (ASN: 42055467), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with Company A, 1st Battalion, 255th Infantry Regiment, 63d Infantry Division, in action on 6 March 1945, in the vicinity of Gudingen, Germany. A squad advancing on an enemy gun position was suddenly fired on from the flank by an enemy machine gun. Private First Class Scorzelli crawled to within thirty yards of the enemy position, threw a hand grenade, and charged the enemy, killing all three of the gunners. The courage and gallantry of Private First Class Scorzelli was in part responsible for the continued advance of his unit and is in keeping with the finest traditions of the Armed Forces of the United States.
