The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Bronze Star Medal to Sergeant First Class John Rosenwald (ASN: RA-17183447), United States Army, for extraordinary achievement while serving with Company A, 89th Medium Tank Battalion, 25th Infantry Division in Korea. During the period 3 August to 1 October 1950 in the initial phase of the Korean conflict Sergeant First Class Rosenwald rendered outstanding service as a member of a tank maintenance section. Repairing tanks and vehicles under intense artillery, mortar, and small arms fire in the front line unit areas, Sergeant First Class Rosenwald was instrumental in maintaining a maximum number of vehicles available for operations during this critical period. Sergeant First Class Rosenwald’s technical knowledge and untiring devotion to duty are in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service.
