The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Bronze Star Medal to Corporal John L. Fish, United States Army, for extraordinary achievement while serving with the 25th Counter-Intelligence Corps Detachment, 25th Infantry Division in Korea. During the period 10 July to 10 October 1950, Corporal Fish was responsible for the automotive maintenance of all vehicles of the 25th Counter-Intelligence Corps Detachment. The was task was rendered particularly difficult due to the rugged terrain over which the vehicles traveled, necessitating constant maintenance. He was further handicapped by a shortage of replacement parts. He exhibited unusual ingenuity and resourcefulness in maintaining all vehicles in operating condition, frequently working long hours to accomplish his mission. When members of the unit were on field trips, Corporal Fish assisted with the administrative work on numerous occasions, display notable versatility. Corporal Fish’s technical ability, determination and devotion to duty are in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Army and reflect the highest credit on himself and the Counter Intelligence Corps.
