Private First Class Paul F. McCleaf (MCSN: 486913), United States Marine Corps, was captured by the Japanese after his SBD-5 Dauntless airplane was shot down over New Britain on 14 January 1944, and was held as a Prisoner of War until his death in captivity on or about 5 March 1944.
