(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star (Army Air Forces Award) to Brigadier General Jean-Ludy Piollet, French Air Force, for gallantry in action against the enemy while serving in support of the U.S. Strategic Air Forces in Europe, in aerial operations in the European Theater of Operations during World War II. The gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty demonstrated by Brigadier General Piollet, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service.
