The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Medal (Air Force) to Brigadier General Wiley Duncan Ganey (AFSN: 553A), United States Air Force, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished services to the Government of the United States, in a duty of great responsibility as Commander of the 12th Air Division and as Special Assistant to the Commanding General, FIFTEENTH Air Force, from 1951 to 1952, and subsequently as Commander of the Far East Air Forces Bomber Command in 1952. The singularly distinctive accomplishments of General Ganey and his dedicated contributions in the service of his country reflect the highest credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
