Terrence Finnegan was ordained as a priest of the Roman Catholic Church in 1930, and was appointed a U.S. Army Reserve Chaplain in 1937. After serving throughout World War II, he transferred to the Air Force in 1949. He served as the Air Force Chief of Chaplains from 1958 to his retirement in 1962 as a U.S. Air Force Major General.
