John Corley graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, Colorado, Class of 1973. During Operation ENDURING FREEDOM in Afghanistan he orchestrated more than 11,000 combat missions striking more than 4,700 targets, including 250 attacks against the Al Qaida and Taliban leadership, as well as safe recovery of isolated personnel during the largest combat search and rescue mission in 50 years. From 2005 to 2007 he served as the 32d Vice Chief of Staff of the Air Force. He retired in 2009 as a U.S. Air Force 4-Star General.
