Charles Patton was commissioned through the Platoon Leaders Course Program upon his graduation from Missouri State University in 1976. In 1987 he was awarded the Marine Corps Aviation Association’s “Bud Baker” Trophy for his contributions to Marine VSTOL flight. He retired as a United States Marine Corps Brigadier General.
