Ben Fuller graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Class of 1889. From July 9, 1930 until March 1, 1934 he served as the 15th Commandant of the Marine Corps. When he died on June 8, 1937, he was buried at the U.S. Naval Academy Cemetery next to his son Captain Edward C. Fuller who was killed in action during World War I.
