The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Captain (Air Corps) Robert E. Nath, United States Army Air Forces, for extraordinary achievement while serving as pilot on many high-altitude, heavy-bombardment missions over Germany and German-occupied Continental Europe during a period ending 4 November 1944. Under the duress of heavy fighter attacks, anti-aircraft fire, and often under adverse weather conditions, Captain Nath, by his superior airmanship, contributed to the success of all of these operations. The untiring effort, skill and determination under stress of combat displayed by Captain Nath are in keeping with the highest traditions of the Army Air Forces of the United States.
