The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Technical Sergeant Fay F. Moore, United States Air Force, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a C-123K Flare kicker in Southeast Asia on the night of 24 March 1970. On that date, Sergeant Moore participated in a hazardous forward air control mission against a convoy of hostile supply vehicles. Showing great determination in the face of intense antiaircraft fire, he was instrumental in pressing the attack to its highly successful conclusion. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Sergeant Moore reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
