(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Corporal Edward Steven Wilke (MCSN: 2053417), United States Marine Corps, was awarded the Silver Star for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action while serving with Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 364 (HMM-364), FIRST Marine Aircraft Wing, in connection with combat operations against the enemy in the Republic of Vietnam on September 3, 1966. By his courage, aggressive fighting spirit and steadfast devotion to duty in the face of extreme personal danger, Corporal Wilke upheld the highest traditions of the Marine Corps and the United States Naval Service.
