The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918 (amended by an act of July 25, 1963), takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star (Army Award) to First Sergeant Albert Quiocho, Jr., United States Marine Corps, for gallantry in action while engaged in military operations in the Republic of Vietnam, while serving with Advisory Team 3, 1st Infantry Division (ARVN), on 22 and 23 June 1971. His actions, without regard for his own safety, reflect great credit on himself and the Armed Forces of the United States.
