Weaver (MCSN: 406374), United States Marine Corps, for gallantry in action at New Georgia, Solomon Islands in aggressively exposing himself to hostile machine gun and sniper fire to retrieve an abandoned machine gun as it was about to fall into the hands of the enemy on 20 July 1943.
