The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star (Army Award) to Corporal John H. Carson (MCSN: 350355), United States Marine Corps, for gallantry in action while leading his squad forward in an assault upon an enemy strong point during which four hostile guns were captured and several of the enemy were killed on 10 July 1943.
