Wysocki, United States Army, for gallantry in connection with military operations against an opposing armed force while serving with Company A, 1st Battalion, 502d Infantry Regiment, 2d Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, in action on 1 November 2010, in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM in Afghanistan. Private First Class Wysocki distinguished himself through exemplary duty performance and intestinal fortitude under heavy enemy fire after a suicide vehicle borne improvised explosive device attack, which contributed significantly to facilitating casualty evacuation operations and repelling the enemy attack. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.
