During an attack by Japanese tanks, Private Soria managed to climb atop an enemy tank and tried to pry the lid open with a bayonet. When that wouldn’t work, he tried to cram a grenade down the muzzle of its cannon before one of the enemy soldiers in the tank managed to wound him with a bayonet, forcing him off the tank. Private Soria’s extraordinary heroism, personal bravery and zealous devotion to duty exemplify the highest traditions of the military forces of the United States and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
