(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Corporal Robert Willard Senser (ASN: 13095400), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy while serving with Cannon Company, 397th Infantry Regiment, 100th Infantry Division, in action against enemy forces in the vicinity of Rimling, France, on 9 and 10 January 1945. Corporal Senser remained at his post to direct he fire of supporting artillery even after the enemy had infiltrated to a point where they were within grenading distance of his position. Corporal Senser’s extraordinary heroism, personal bravery and zealous devotion to duty exemplify the highest traditions of the military forces of the United States and reflect great credit upon himself, the 100th Infantry Division, and the United States Army.
