    (Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Technical Sergeant Alfred Anthony Renzella (ASN: 35749590), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy while serving with Company B, 1st Battalion, 387th Infantry Regiment, 97th Infantry Division, in action against enemy forces in the Germany, on 2 May 1945. Technical Sergeant Renzella kept a mortar in action, although he was wounded and under intense machine gun and rifle fire. Technical Sergeant Renzella’s extraordinary heroism, personal bravery and zealous devotion to duty exemplify the highest traditions of the military forces of the United States and reflect great credit upon himself, the 97th Infantry Division, and the United States Army.
