(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918 (amended by an act of July 25, 1963), takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Captain Shane F. Finn, United States Army, for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action while serving as a Company Commander of Company C, 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, 2d Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, during combat operations in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM, in Iraq. Captain Finn distinguished himself by his gallant leadership in helping Coalition Forces to establish a permanent presence in the Euphrates River Valley. Captain Finn’s gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, the 10th Mountain Division, and the United States Army.
