Paul Harvey received a bachelor of business science degree from Miami (Ohio) University and received his commission through the ROTC program. He retired as a U.S. Air Force Major General on September 1, 1991. He is the cousin of Paul Harvey, the famous radio personality of the same name.

    The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting a Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a Second Award of the Air Force Distinguished Service Medal to Major General Paul A. Harvey, United States Air Force, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States. General Harvey distinguished himself as Commander, Keesler Technical Training Center, Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi, from 21 June 1988 to 31 August 1991. During this period, General Harvey’s leadership and resourcefulness resulted in a high level of war readiness by providing exceptionally well-trained military personnel to fulfill national objectives. His superior management skills and articulate spokesmanship were instrumental in keeping Keesler Technical Training Center as an efficient, effective installation producing top quality graduates ready to assume their duties in operational units throughout the Air Force. The singularly distinctive accomplishments of General Harvey culminate a long and distinguished career in the service of his country and reflect the highest credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
